Part 6

Gabriella vs Jex and Dagrak

(Gabriella walks through a dark passage. The sword hums lightly.)

Gabriella: Nanesse? Kain? (rolls her eyes) Bruce? Where is everyone?

J/D: Not here. No, only us here. The Azriel didn’t want to play with us today, busy he said. Bah.

Gabriella: Who’s there?

J/D: Just me. What do you mean, just you? I’m here too. Ok fine, there are three of us. Three? Yes, you, me, and the girl. What girl? The girl who’s asking who’s here.

Gabriella: You seem to be having some kind of dispute, I’ll just be on my way.

J/D: No, you can’t leave until you play with us. That’s what Azriel said. The elf girl would also be angry. Yes yes, beastly woman.

Gabriella: You work for Azriel?

J/D: Yes, for now. Don’t like taking orders from a mage, but the council demanded it. Who are we to go against the council? Nobody.

Gabriella: What council, who are you?

J/D: Aren’t you the inquisitive one? Might as well tell her. Yes, secrecy is never much fun.

(Gabriella walks into a light. As she walks closer the light becomes brighter. She finds herself on the bottom floor of an enormous doll’s house. Oversized dolls/toys/furniture are all over)

Gabriella: Now that’s just creepy.

J/D: Don’t you like our room?

Gabriella: Where are you?

(sword gets a bit louder, Gabriella notices and curls her lip. From the bed, a head rises. It’s a young girl. She rises all the way and sits on the bed. She’s wearing a red and blue dress. Gabriella is facing the other direction.)

J/D: Hello. My name is Jex.

Gabriella: (turns and sees the girl on the bed, then looks around) I thought there was two of you…

J/D: Oh her, yes she’s here. Say hello.

(a sound catches Gabriella’s attention. As she turns slow motion J/D fades from the bed and appears on a chair behind her. As it speeds up Gabriella sets eyes on J/D)

J/D: Dagrak’s the name.

Gabriella: Jex and Dagrak? Aren’t those boy’s names?

(J/D snaps her head to look behind Gabriella. She turns (slow-mo again) as J/D appears right in front of her.)

J/D: They’re our names.

Gabriella: (hears the sword vibrate and slices at J/D) Demon!

(J/D does a back-flip out of the way. Mid-air she splits down the middle, spreading crimson light from the center-line. Jex and Dagrak stand next to each other. Jex is wearing a red split dress and Dagrak is wearing a blue one)

Jex: Demons.

Dagrak: Plural.

Gabriella: I know what you are. Phantoms. Sub-class Dopplo-Zerenia. Grade 7 HM.

Jex: (ignoring Gabriella) Oh my, will you look at that.

Dagrak: Is that what I think it is?

J/D: The slayers sword?

Dagrak: But why is the sword so far from its master?

Jex: (smiles at Gabriella) Perhaps we should return it…

Gabriella: How dare you talk about my sister! (slices at them both)

(They fade and separate. Dagrak appears sitting on the stairs. Jex hangs upside down from the fan)

Jex: Did you hear? She’s the sister!

Dagrak: The sister! But she seems to be angry. Think there is bad blood?

Jex: All human blood is bad! (they both laugh)

Gabriella: If it weren’t for your kind, she’d still be here! (attacks Dagrak)

Dagrak: (appears on a giant doll) Not here, not here.

Jex: Slayer is

Gabriella: (while Jex is talking she heads straight for her) I told you to stop

Jex: On the council.

Gabriella: (stops) What?

Dagrak: Leader of the council. Symbol of

Jex: power

Dagrak: and unity

J/D: of the Demon Nation.

Gabriella: She’s… She’s still alive.

Jex: Yes, but you won’t

Dagrak: see her again.

(as Gabriella is looks up, Dagrak pulls the hand of the doll, pulling out a sword. Jex pulls out the fan blade she’s hanging from, which unfolds to become a chained and bladed weapon. Jex falls from the ceiling and swings her weapon thingy at Gabriella who dodges and goes for a thrust straight up. Jex fades and lands somewhere else. Dagrak uses her feet to push off the dolls face and straight at Gabriella who spins and slices. Dagrak fades to the bed)

Dagrak: (smiles) This is fun!

Gabriella: Why won’t you die?

(from under the bed a jump rope flies out and wraps around Gabriella’s leg, knocking her over.)

Jex: (from under the bed) Not finished playing…

(Dagrak jumps off the bed sword out. Gabriella spins out of the way and cuts the rope as Jex fades through the floor. Gabriella goes to sweep Dagrak, but she jumps and fades)

Gabriella: Your tricks are starting to bore me.

(Jex comes from the side and hits Gabriella on an armored section. Gabriella counter attacks, but misses and loses balance. Dagrak comes from the top and puts a huge dent on her shoulder plate. Gabriella screams and puts a slice in Dagrak’s forarm. Dagrak fades and reappears on the chair, clutching her arm, black blood oozing out)

Dagrak: (uber-pissed) I also tire of this game…

Jex: Then it’s agreed. Let’s dispose of our toy and return to Pyre.

Gabriella: You aren’t going anywhere.

Jex: Then let’s finish it…

(Jex jumps straight up and fades to the second story. Dagrak follows suit. Gabriella runs up the stairs in pursuit.)

Gabriella: You think this is a game?

Dagrak: Of course

(Dagrak is behind a huge teddy bear and pushes it at Gabriella then fades out of the way of her sword. Slow motion again. As the bear gets closer to Gabriella she looks into its eyes, seeing the reflection of Jex behind her. As the camera speeds up, Gabriella spins her sword to the side then over her shoulder directly into Jex’s throat. Jex begins to lighten. After Gabriella pulls her sword out, Jex brightens, then darkens, then melts halfway into the floor then ‘explodes’ into light particle thingies.)

Dagrak: Sister!!!!

Gabriella: (kneeling a bit) Now you know how I feel.

Dagrak: You die NOW!

Gabriella: I’ve heard that before.

(the majority of this fight is dependant on what the all powerful fight choreographer feels like doing. Either way Dagrak gets sliced in half, spraying black gooey blood which melts away. Dagrak goes the way of Jex.)

Gabriella: You lose… Ugh, did I just say that? (pulls dented plate off her shoulder, revealing a huge bruise) Shit, that smarts.

(Gabriella walks down the stairs, camera fades to next fight)
